A 6-point socket can remove the Oil Filter cap but allow normal draining oil from the Oil Filter chamber within the adapter housing. Do not replace the adapter for this natural condition. First, remove the old Oil Filter cartridge then support the vehicle at a proper height. A suitable drain should be placed under the oil pan Drain Plug for complete oil drainage after removing the plug. The vehicle requires a new o-ring seal for the oil pan Drain Plug before installing it at 20 nm (15 lb ft). The vehicle can then be lowered. When installing the new Oil Filter cartridge add engine oil to the threads of the cap to stop damage and enhance future unscrewing. Install the Oil Filter cap with a 6-point socket while applying 25 nm (18 lb in) torque setting. Slide the oil fill cap onto its place before adding engine oil of the correct type and amount. Reinstall the front compartment sight shield according to necessary procedures.
