How to replace the oil pan on Cadillac CTS?

Engine oil drainage must precede the removal of front frame structures along with transmission fluid cooler pieces from their engine bolt connection. The installation process begins with removal of the 3 lower transmission mounting bolts and the oil pan bolts before gently prying the oil pan from the engine block to finish its removal. After cleaning the mating surfaces on the cylinder block you must inspect the oil pan for any damage. Start by applying a bead of silicone sealing compound (GM P/N 12346286 or Canadian P/N 10953472) to the oil pan mating surface then position the oil pan toward the rear of the engine block until all bolts can be tightened. Follow this order of installation to fasten all oil pan bolts at 15 Nm torque setting (11 ft. lbs.). Begin installation by attaching the engine's transmission mounting bolts with 50 Nm torque settings (37 ft. lbs.) followed by securing the brace connecting the transmission fluid cooler pipes to the engine block at 25 Nm torque settings (18 ft. lbs.). Last steps include front frame installation followed by filling engine oil then examining for oil leakages once the engine runs.
