To service and repair the Control Arm Bushing, start by lifting and supporting the vehicle and then dismount the tire and wheel assemblies. Then, pull off brake bracket retainer screw and remove the road sensing suspension position sensor and bracket from the shock tower. In order to replace the right side bushing, you may need to lower the exhaust system and heat shield. Mount a screw jack under the rear suspension support forward arm, then unscrew the forward arm nuts & bolts, tracking the brakes calipers, hoses & pipes movements to avoid getting damaged. Lower the forward arm down slowly almost 5 inches to achieve the necessary tool clearance and then push the bushing set (J21474-01) into the forward arm flanges. Coat the screw assembly (J21474-19) threads with high pressure lubricant and prevent screw assembly from damage that occur during the process and install the bushing set (J21474-01), bushing receiver (J21474-5), long nut (J21474-18), and screw assembly (J21474-19). Extract the bushing from the forward arm using the nut by tightening it. For installation, orient the new bushing on the forward arm by having the notches in the bushing flange align with the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions from the outboard side, having the bushing drawn inward. Insert again the bushing set j21474-01, coat the threads of screw assembly j21474-19 with high pressure lubricant, and install the bushing set (J21474-01), bushing receiver (J21474-5), long nut (J21474-18) and screw assembly (J21474-19) to pull the bushing in the forward arm till the flange seats firmly. Check upper suspension support insulators positioning, then try to raise slowly suspension support aligning it with the body. Make sure the direction of the forward arm bolts is right with the nuts on the right and the cup-shaped washer should only be used on the left forward arm bolt. Mount the suspension support forward arm bolts, nuts and washers, and the upper mounting bolts in and insulators, then tighten the right side suspension support forward arm nut to 63 nm (46 ft. Lbs.), and the left side forward arm bolt to 102 nm (75 ft. Lbs.), and the upper mounting bolts to 102 nm (75 ft. Lbs.). Lastly take off the screw jacks bring back the heat shield exhaling system, reconnect the sink-road bushing place and bracket place back the brake bracket retainer screw, position the tire and wheel assemblies back on and lower the vehicle.
