Start replacement by disconnecting the electrical connectors that link to the rear compartment lid latch assembly. First pull off the latch cable from inside the lock cylinder and detach the fastener that joins the rear storage compartment handle to the lid. Unscrew the fasteners holding the rear compartment lid latch assembly to the lid and take out the assembly. Start installation by attaching the lid latch assembly and fasten it with hardware while tightening to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Connect the latch cable to the lock cylinder and fasten the rear compartment lid interior release handle in place using the specified fastener while tightening it to 2 n.m (18 lb in). Rejoin the electrical contacts to the lid latch unit.
