In order to replace the Ignition Control Module, disconnect all electrical connectors from the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and record the position of the
Spark Plug Wires before disconnecting them from the
Ignition Coils. Then, undo the screws of the coil assemblies to the Ignition Control Module and pull the coils off the module. Next, remove the fasteners that hold the Ignition Control Module assembly on the engine and remove the Ignition Control Module from the bracket. Now to install, put the Ignition Control Module back on bracket, fastening the coils to the module. Replace the fasteners holding the Ignition Control Module assembly to the engine and tighten the screws to 4.5 n.m (40 lb in). Lastly, reattach the Spark Plug Wires as indicated while removing and the electrical connectors to the Ignition Control Module.
