The Rocker Arm is perhaps one of the essential parts of the Buick Rainier production series that and was manufactured from the year 2004 to the year 2007. It is a crucial component, which helps to transmit the movement from the pushrod to the intake/exhaust valves for proper performance of the engine. Chiefly made of stamped steel or aluminum the Rocker Arm contributes less to friction and wear, especially when the RPM is high, improving the efficiency of the car. Being a part of the engine, the Rocker Arm stands out in the market owing to the possibility of a rocker ratio of between 1.5:1 to 1.8:1. Thus, compatibility with various Rainier models, particularly with the CXL and CXL Plus trims, enables drivers to achieve a perfect and powerful drive. Also you will find in the Rocker Arm that there new fulcrum bearings are critical for additional stress during high performance leading to safety and reliability. All these features do not only increase the performance of the vehicle, but also lead to safer driving as indicated by Rainier's good safety ratings. In all, the Rocker Arm further redefines the quality of vehicles that Buick brand presents in the market and indeed is an essential component of Rainier's strong power train and an influential performer in the delivery of luxury and reliability that consumers desire in their vehicles.

Buick Rainier Rocker Arm Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the valve rocker arm and valve lash adjuster on Buick Rainier?
    A:
You must start valve Rocker Arm and valve Lash Adjuster replacement by taking out the Camshaft cover and exhaust and intake sprocket bolts first. Use the Camshaft sprocket holding tool (J 44222) on the Cylinder Head by securing horizontal bolts through the Camshaft sprockets to secure chain tension thus protecting the timing chain elements. The sprockets with timing chain need removal from the camshafts while you carefully move them before you remove the Camshaft cap bolts. Keep the Camshaft caps in a rack for later correct installation. After the Camshaft caps must be removed along with camshafts and valve rocker arms and valve lash adjusters which need to be placed in proper order for future reinstallation. Before returning the valve lash adjusters to their original spots the technician must apply engine oil inside them then fill them with the same oil. Add engine oil to both the valve Rocker Arm roller and valve rocker arms then implement the rollers before treating Camshaft journals with lubrication. You should reinstall both camshafts and Camshaft caps by tightening the Camshaft cap bolts up to 12 nm which equals 106 inch lbs. Place each Camshaft sprocket onto its Camshaft after taking off the Camshaft sprocket holding tool (J 44222). The intake Camshaft sprocket washer and bolt join the exhaust Camshaft actuator bolt in installation and require the intake Camshaft sprocket bolt to reach a torque of 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) through a first-stage tightening followed by 100-degree tightening with the torque angle meter (J 36660-A). The exhaust Camshaft actuator bolt requires two-stage tightening to a torque of 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). The torque angle meter should be used for the final tightening of the exhaust Camshaft actuator bolt which requires a total 135 degrees of rotation after an initial pass of 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Finally, install the Camshaft cover.
