How to replace the front shock absorber on 2010 Chevrolet HHR?

The first step for strut assembly replacement involves elevating the vehicle just enough to achieve tire removal. Start by taking out the stabilizer shaft link from the front suspension strut. Start by removing the front suspension strut mounting nut on the front suspension strut stud. Drive the vehicle up higher until you can reach the lower front suspension strut bolts then use an adjustable jack stand to support the lower Control Arm. First disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connectors and remove the wheel speed sensor bracket to relocate it to the side. After that remove the front suspension strut nut from the front suspension strut bolts. Detach the front suspension strut bolts from the front suspension strut before you extract the front suspension strut out of the vehicle's frame. Place the front suspension strut into the vehicle before mounting the front suspension front mounting nuts onto the front suspension strut studs and tightening them to 20 nm (15 lb ft torque). Raise the lower Control Arm using the adjustable jack stand so the front suspension strut can be installed. Afterwards install the front suspension strut bolts in the front suspension strut. The wheel speed sensor electrical connectors must be rejoined before you position the wheel speed sensor bracket onto the front suspension strut bolts. Then install front suspension strut nuts onto these bolts while tightening them to 120 nm (89 lb ft). Put on both the stabilizer shaft link to the front suspension strut along with the tire and wheel assembly and perform a front end alignment.
