2010 Chevrolet Cobalt Fuel Injector Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the direct fuel injector on 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt?
A: Start your replacement of the direct Fuel Injector by disconnecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector which is attached to the Fuel Injector wiring harness electrical connector. The vehicle requires the removal of its Intake Manifold assembly together with its Fuel Injector insulator. Remove the high side fuel system pressure using ch 48027 through an appropriate method. First disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from high pressure Fuel Pump and remove the engine wiring harness clip from high pressure Fuel Pump cover. The procedure starts with taking out the fuel feed intermediate pipe followed by disconnecting the Fuel Injector wiring harness electrical connectors from the fuel injectors. Gently remove the Fuel Rail after unboltng its retention bolts while keeping an eye out for the possibility of fuel injectors staying together with it. Free the direct Fuel Injector hold down clamps then extract the direct fuel injectors from their place. Exactly remove stuck fuel injectors from the Cylinder Head using j-37281-a (injector remover) alongside j-2619-01 (slide hammer) to extract the injectors straight without applying any position changes. The process should begin with cleaning the removed injectors and performing rebuilding operations. Start by installing bolt 1 along each outer Fuel Rail with manual tightening then proceed with bolt 2 and bolt 3 while keeping it also hand tight. The Fuel Injector wiring harness electrical connectors should be connected to the fuel injectors while following the provided fastener caution. For both the first and last torque applications use a sequence to tighten Fuel Rail bolts to 22 nm (16 lb ft). The installation process starts with fuel feed intermediate pipe attachment followed by engine wiring harness electrical connector connection to the high pressure Fuel Pump. Besides, the engine wiring harness clip should be installed onto the high pressure Fuel Pump cover. Reinstall the Fuel Injector insulator together with connecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the Fuel Injector wiring harness electrical connector. Turn on the ignition switch when the engine remains off for 2 seconds followed by 10 seconds of engine switch off and then turning it on again with engine off to detect any fuel leakage. Reinstall the Intake Manifold assembly while completing the installation of the low side fuel pressure service port cap followed by tightening the fuel fill cap.
