2010 Chevrolet Camaro Water Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the water pump on 2010 Chevrolet Camaro?
A: Before starting Water Pump replacement work you must take off the air cleaner components. Begin by emptying the cooling system and then take off the drive belt tensioner and driven idler pulley. Detach the radiator inlet hose and outlet hose plus the heater inlet and outlet hose connections to the Water Pump. Remove and block the Water Pump bolts while cleaning the mating surfaces and discarding the gaskets before taking the pump out . Always use fresh Water Pump gaskets when installing the Water Pump except with block and tighten bolts to a torque specification of 30 nm (22 lb ft). Join the Water Pump with water inlet and outlet hoses, radiator inlet and outlet pipes, and heater input and output lines into position. Reinstall the drive belt tensioner parts as the final steps. Put cooling fluid into the system before attaching the air filter component.
