2010 Chevrolet Camaro Thermostat Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the engine coolant thermostat on 2010 Chevrolet Camaro?
A: Start by draining the engine coolant from the cooling system to replace the engine coolant Thermostat. Portfolio evaluation requires a cooling system flush with subsequent replacement of Water Pump and Thermostat when oil contamination exists in the cooling system. Move the outlet hose clamp away from the inlet side of the Water Pump before removing the outlet hose from its inlet connection. The next step requires removing both Water Pump inlet bolts before the Water Pump inlet can be taken out. The o-ring seal runs through the Thermostat Housing so it needs to be extracted. When installing the Thermostat Housing you should first ensure both an o-ring seal fits properly into its designated groove. Attach the Water Pump inlet (with Thermostat) then tighten its bolts to 15 nm (11 lb ft). Secure the outlet hose to the Water Pump inlet then place the outlet hose clamp on the water outlet. Finally, fill the cooling system.
