2009 Chevrolet Malibu MAP Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the MAP Sensor on 2009 Chevrolet Malibu?
A: You need to remove the air cleaner outlet duct before starting parts replacement on the manifold absolute pressure sensor. Begin by disconnecting the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge tube from the Intake Manifold then relocate it away from the area. The procedure begins by disconnecting the MAP Sensor wiring from the electrical connector of the Fuel Injector harness before taking off the harness clips from the fuel rail tabs. Cease the electrical connection between the Fuel Injector wiring harness and the number 3 Fuel Injector before you press the tabs and elevate the MAP Sensor. Prior to MAP Sensor installation you should apply a small amount of clean engine oil to the MAP Sensor seal then position the sensor within the Intake Manifold. Clamp the Fuel Injector wiring harness electrical connector to the number 3 Fuel Injector following installation of Fuel Injector wiring harness clips onto the fuel rail tabs. You must install the MAP Sensor into the Intake Manifold then route the evap canister purge tube through and connect it to this unit. Afterwards connect the Fuel Injector wiring harness electrical connector to the MAP Sensor. The final step involves installing the duct connected to the air cleaner outlet.
