2009 Cadillac XLR Starter Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the starter motor (LC3) on 2009 Cadillac XLR?
A: Disconnect the batter negative cable in order to replace the Starter motor (LC3). Next, remove the supercharger assembly. Next, remove the battery positive cable from the Starter and the wire from the s terminal in the Starter. Remove the bolts of Starter motor and remove the Starter motor. To install, start by installing the Starter motor and make sure to adhere to fastener caution guidelines. Fit the Starter motor bolts and clamp them with 30 nm (22 lb ft). Attach the wire and nut to the s terminal on the Starter to tighten nut to 4 nm (35 lb in). Connect another smaller positive cable to the battery post. This should be the utility cable charged with a normal 12-volt 10-amp battery. Halogen lamps around the buss event drive off the battery roaders system. Connect the battery positive cable and nut to Starter terminal, tightening to the torque of 12 nm (106 lb in). Replace the supercharger assembly and finally reconnect the battery negative cable.
