    A: Start replacement of the Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor (SIS) by disabling the SIR system. Start by moving the seat forward to maximum extension while removing the trim panel from the center pillar. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the harness to SIS while also removing the harness from the SIS. First disconnect the SIS mounting fasteners before freeing the SIS unit from its center pillar position. Thoroughly clean the mounting area before attaching the new SIS to its position on the center pillar. Fasten the SIS mounting components with 9 Nm (80 lb in) torque. Reconnect the harness connector to the SIS before installing the CPA onto the harness connector. Reinstall the center pillar trim then move the seat back to its original position while enabling the SIR system.
