  A: Begin the ABS Control Module replacement process by disabling the engine using the ignition control to prevent hardware destruction. The installation process starts with vehicle support followed by unfastening of air deflector shield and right front wheelhouse liner except for the washer solvent container. Wash all surrounding areas on the ABS Control Module before detaching the washer solvent container bracket to avoid contaminating the region. Find the retaining mechanism of the ABS Control Module electrical connector then rotate the connector tab forward while pressing the retainer. Clean the assembly surface of the ABS Control Module and brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) by removing their four mounting screws. If the ABS Control Module shows defective behavior it must be replaced because there exists no repair solution and it should be detached from its BPMV connection. The process of installation begins by cleaning the BPMV seal surface followed by proper connector attachment between the pump motor inside and new ABS Control Module unit. Tighten successively all four screws which connect the ABS Control Module to the BPMV until they reach 5 Nm (44 lb in).
