  • Q: How to Replace a Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2008 Cadillac XLR?
A: In order to change the engine Coolant Temperature Sensor, begin by turning off the ignition then drain the coolant such that it is below the sensor ect. Next dismount the supercharger assembly and disconnect the ect sensor harness connector. Then, take off the ect sensor that is fixed on the right-hand Cylinder Head. When repairing the new ect sensor seal the threads of the sensor with sealer and install the ect sensor, tightening it to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Reconnect the ect sensor harness connector and replace the supercharger assembly. Finally, refill the coolant system. Make sure all the replacement components are the right part number for application, adhere to the specified torque specifications, and do not cause any harm.
