The first step in replacing the left Timing Chain is to take out the engine front cover. Then, remove the Timing Chain Tensioner on the right bank, next take out the Timing Chain shoe and guide, and finally remove the right bank Timing Chain itself. Take out the left bank camshaft intermediate drive chain idler and the left bank Timing Chain. After you have removed the left bank components, attention shifts to the right bank. After removing the right bank camshaft intermediate drive chain idler, remove next the left bank Timing Chain Tensioner, the left bank Timing Chain shoe, and its guide. You should then take out the left bank camshaft intermediate drive chain idler and the left bank Timing Chain. Check and clean all the components involved in camshaft timing drive, and change the needed components. First, attach the left bank Timing Chain, then the left bank camshaft intermediate drive chain idler, the left bank Timing Chain Guide, the you should then set up the right bank camshaft intermediate drive chain idler, the primary Timing Chain, the primary upper Timing Chain Guide, and the primary Timing Chain Tensioner. The last step is to put in the right bank Timing Chain, its guide, its shoe, its tensioner, and reinstall the engine front cover.
