The exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve inlet pipe features a crush seal connection at the water pump housing that should be replaced when removing it. First disconnect the egr inlet pipe nut from the front Exhaust Manifold pipe before you can remove the front Exhaust Manifold pipe to lower crankcase bolt and front Exhaust Manifold pipe to cylinder head stud to extract the front Exhaust Manifold pipe itself.
