How to replace the front brake calipers (J56) on 2007 Cadillac CTS?

Before working on the front brake caliper j56 you need to check the brake master cylinder fluid level. If it stands half way between max and minimum lines you do not need to remove fluid yet. Lift the vehicle to work space and take away both tire and wheel components. Use otc 7034 disc brake pad spreader tool or equal to push brake pad backing plates apart until caliper pistons fully enter the piston bores. Detach the brake hose from caliper and discard both copper gaskets since they often fix themselves to the components. Close the openings on the brake caliper and hose to stop fluid loss then disconnect the bolts linking the brake caliper to the knuckle to remove the caliper from its bracket. Before mounting the bolts in the knuckle washer area clean their threaded sections and surrounding knuckle holes using threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) and wait for 10 minutes for it to cure. Use silicone brake lubricant sparingly before fitting the brake caliper onto its bolts and secure them to 130 n.m torque (96 lb ft). Insert new copper hose gaskets into the brake caliper opening and brake hose end before fitting together and tightening the hose bolt to 34 n.m (25 lb ft). Use the hydraulic fluid pump to evacuate the hydraulic brake system. Next turn off the engine and press the brake pedal to 2/3 compression height while letting it relax gradually then repeat the process until you achieve good brake pedal feedback. Put the tire and wheel assembly back in place and lower the vehicle.
