The first step involves both taking out the Center Console while disconnecting the automatic shift lock actuator electrical connector. The technician should detach the automatic shift lock actuator from three components: pivot point and base of shift lock control and vehicle. The first step for installation includes placing the automatic shift lock actuator at both the base of the shift lock control and the pivot point. Proceed with installation by first reconnecting the automatic shift lock actuator electrical connector followed by reinstallation of the Center Console and lastly reattach the negative Battery Cable.
