How to replace the harmonic balancer on 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt?

The first step to replace the crankshaft balancer requires Drive Belt removal. The Harmonic Balancer holder (J 38122-A) should be used to stop crankshaft rotation during crankshaft balancer bolt removal. Replace and discard the old bolt. After removing the crankshaft balancer it is the next step. Install the new crankshaft balancer into position before tightening its bolt with the Harmonic Balancer holder (J 38122-A) in place. Follow the same procedure with the Harmonic Balancer holder (J 38122-A) to secure the crankshaft balancer during bolt tightening. Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt to 100 nm torque (74 ft. Lbs) as well as an additional 125 degrees according to the readings from the angle meter (J 45059). Finally, reinstall the Drive Belt.
