How to replace the Power Steering Hose on 2006 Cadillac DTS?

The replacement of power steering pressure pipe/hose begins with installing a drain pan below the vehicle while removing the hose from the Power Steering Pump. First raise the vehicle for support before you detach the power steering gear heat shield together with the wheelhouse liner. Beginning at the Cylinder Head, remove the power steering pressure hose bracket retaining nut followed by disconnecting the hose from its frame bracket as well as its power steering gear before extracting it from the vehicle. Mount the new power steering pressure hose onto the vehicle before attaching it to the frame bracket structure. To install the power steering pressure hose at the power steering gear secure it with a torque tightness of 27 nm (20 ft. Lbs.). The power steering pressure hose bracket and retaining nut need installation on the Cylinder Head with 9 nm torques (80 inch lbs.). After lowering the vehicle place the wheelhouse liner and power steering gear heat shield properly before connecting the power steering pressure hose at the pump and tightening the connection to 27 nm (20 ft. Lbs.). The drain pan must be removed before performing power steering system bleeding.
