How to address issues with the front cross-member on 2005 Chevrolet SSR?

To change the front steering gear crossmember, lift and prop the vehicle. Take out the front crossmember brace and the back lower control arm bracket mounting bolts then remove the steering gear crossmember. Connect the new crossmember, tighten the mounting bolts and reconnect the front crossmember brace and then lower the vehicle.
