- Q: How to replace the Ignition Coil(s) for Bank 1 on 2005 Cadillac SRX?A: To replace the Ignition Coil(S) for bank 1, turn the ignition off and follow removing engine cover backening, but without splitting upper Intake Manifold from a lower Intake Manifold. If changing the Ignition Coil for cylinder 1 or 3, disconnect the air cleaner from the Throttle Body and pcv hose from the right bank camshaft cover remove the Intake Manifold bolt while leaving the fuel disabled model or hoses in place. Next, remove the Intake Manifold brace bolts (1 and 2) and the brace, then reposition the upper Intake Manifold to the lower Intake Manifold for enough clearance to remove the ignition coils. Pull the Ignition Coil electrical connector(s) off, remove the Ignition Coil bolt(s), and get the Ignition Coil(s) out. For installation, put the Ignition Coil(s) back, secure it with Ignition Coil bolt(s) with the torque of 10 n.m (89 lb in), then change the Ignition Coil electrical connector(s), and if required, change the Intake Manifold before finally clamping the engine cover back.
