2005 Cadillac CTS Oil Pan Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the oil pan on 2005 Cadillac CTS?
A: You have to start by removing the engine front cover before taking off the A/C Compressor bracket power steering hose retainer then disconnecting the intermediate Steering Shaft. First disconnect the a/c pipe and hose connections from the Engine Mount lower nuts before using a socket to remove the A/C Compressor bracket bolts for relocation. Start by draining the engine oil and removing the transmission oil cooler pipe retainer at the engine's right side. Before removing the Oil Pan, install the engine support fixture then secure its wing nuts to free up space for installation. Inspect and clean the Oil Pan only if its disassembly becomes needed. First install the needed parts of the Oil Pan then put the Oil Pan in place afterward lower the engine through the engine support fixture wing nut adjustment to mount the engine at the frame before removing the engine support fixture. Installation begins with the transmission oil cooler pipe retainer followed by adding new engine oil after which the A/C Compressor bracket mounts with the A/C Compressor. After installing the Engine Mount lower nuts use the intermediate Steering Shaft to reconnect it while you add the power steering hose retainer to the A/C Compressor bracket then reinstall the engine front cover.
