2004 Chevrolet SSR Fuel Injector Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace a fuel injector on 2004 Chevrolet SSR?
A: The required tool for Fuel Injector replacement is the Fuel Injector assembly removal tool (J 43013). During the first stage remove the Fuel Rail assembly while being attentive to prevent damage to both the Fuel Injector electrical connector pins and nozzles. Extract the injector retainer clip and pull the injector from the Fuel Rail pad by disconnecting it. Throw out the used retainer clip. Discard the o-ring seals (2, 4) that are located at each end of the injector next before removing them entirely from both ends of the injector. To replace your Fuel Injector use only the specified version identified by both the Fuel Injector assembly stamp and its four-digit production date code. Apply clean engine oil to the new injector o-ring seals (2, 4) before installing them correctly onto the injector. The installation requires an attached new retainer clip to the injector which must be pushed into the Fuel Rail injector socket at an angle that positions the electrical connector outward with the retainer clip securing itself to the Fuel Rail injector socket's flange. The Fuel Rail assembly needs to be reinstalled as the final step.
