In order to change the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), it is important to keep the ignition off in order to avoid damaging it. A connector pin should not be touched to avoid electrostatic discharge. Copy the broadcast code on the service PCM label. Unscrew the negative battery cable, air cleaner housing and PCM. Cable all back up and code the PCM (where necessary).
