How to replace a single muffler on 2004 Chevrolet Impala?

Before working on the single Muffler replacement start by lifting up the vehicle and using support to hold the exhaust system. Detach the exhaust system from exhaust hangers by removing the Catalytic Converter nuts. Thoroughly wash down both the Catalytic Converter and Muffler joint surfaces. Begin your installation by hooking up the Muffler to the exhaust hangers while restoring support to the entire exhaust system. Apply new gaskets to the Catalytic Converter and Muffler parts before following the fastener notice instructions in service precautions. Reset the converted Catalytic Converter nuts after installation by torqueing them to 60 nm (44 ft. Lbs.). After removing the exhaust system support lower the vehicle to check for exhaust leaks.
