    A: To replace the Rack and Pinion Boot on the vehicle, first, the installation of the Steering Column anti-rotation pin (J 42640) into the Steering Column. Lift the vehicle and withdraw the wheel from the tire. Make sure that the wheels are straight ahead, steering column in lock position, to ensure it is disconnected from the steering gear, prevent damage occurs. Take off the intermediate shaft lower pinch bolt and disengage the intermediate shaft from the power gearing unit. Then, take off the outer tie rod and the power steering gear holding bolts and then carefully align the power steering gear for working with the dust boot. Slack off the jam nut from the inner tie rod, followed by the detachable inner outer clamps from the Rack and Pinion Boot, then latterly, remove it Rack and Pinion Boot. Upon installation, mount the new Rack and Pinion Boot and a new inner clamp so that the keystone clamp plier (J 22610) can crimp the boot clamp. Mount the outer clamp, then the inner jam nut on the inner tie rod, and mount the power steering gear. Do not forget to install the power steering gear retaining bolts by tightening them to 95 nm (70 ft. Lbs), followed by installing the outer tie rod. Attach the intermediate shaft to the power steering gear and tighten the lower pinch bolt at 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs). Switch the tire and wheel, then drop the vehicle, and lastly, but not least remove the j 42640 from the Steering Column before adjusting the front toe.
