How to replace the tailgate latch on the left upper endgate on 2004 Buick Rainier?

To replace the tailgate left upper latch, first, swing open the tailgate and take out the tailgate trim panel, then tailgate inner reinforcement panel. Next, take off the two screws holding the latch assembly to the tailgate and disconnect the electrical connector from the latch assembly before you take off the latch from the tailgate. As for installation, install the latch to the tailgate and join the electrical connector to the latch assembly. Make sure to install the screws that hold the latch assembly to the tailgate with a torque of 10 N.m (89 lb in). Lastly, fit the tailgate inner reinforcement panel and the tailgate trim panel.
