How to replace the front outside door handle on 2004 Buick Rainier?

The first step to replace the front outside door handle requires complete closure of the window panes. The first step involves taking off both the door trim panel as well as the rear section of the water deflector that is attached to the door. Freeing the upper part of the lock rod retaining mechanism allows removal of the rod from the handle assembly. First remove the lock cylinder rod retainer from the lock rod using the equipment available and then take the lock rod out from the handle assembly. The doorway handle retaining nuts should be removed and the entire handle assembly needs to be extracted from the door. Unlock handle storage which contains the cylinder if your Chevrolet Express is equipped with this option. Start installation by fitting the lock cylinder to the handle when needed before putting back the handle assembly on the door. Reinstall the lock rod retainer after connecting the upper rod to the handle assembly. First install the cylinder lock rod retainer after you set the lock cylinder rod to the handle assembly. Install the door trim panel after you reattach the rear half of the water deflector to the door while making sure both door handle retaining nuts achieve 10 N.m (88 lb in) torque.
