How to replace the Trunk Lock Cylinder in the rear compartment lid on 2003 Chevrolet Malibu?

In order to install a new trunk/liftgate lock cylinder, one needs to take off the rear compartment lid applique. Unscrew the lock cable off the lock cylinder, drill the rivets that hold the lock cylinder, and take the lock cylinder, and drill the gasket out. Install the new lock cylinder along with the gasket and fasten using rivets and attach the applique again.
