How to service the EGR valve on 2002 GMC Savana 3500?

In order to service the EGR valve, turn OFF the ignition and remove the air cleaner assembly, taking note of the position of the EGR valve. Remove harness connector without using liquid cleaners. Remove the EGR valve bolts without dismantling it, clean the gasket surface and replace the gasket. Remove the air cleaner again and reinstall it, reconnect the harness.
