How to Replace a Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) on 2002 Buick LeSabre?

The installation of a new heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) starts with turning off vehicle ignition while suspending the car above the ground. First disconnect the electrical connector retaining tab from the ho2s electrical connector before cutting the Oxygen Sensor connector away from the ho2s electrical connector. Exercise care when removing the ho2s because its removal becomes challenging at temperatures below 48°c (120°F) and heavy force might damage Exhaust Manifold or Exhaust Pipe threads. Per instruction, remove the Oxygen Sensor by using an Oxygen Sensor wrench (J 39194). Insert the Oxygen Sensor into the Exhaust Pipe before tightening it at 41 n.m (30 lb ft). Proceed by attaching the electrical connector to the ho2s then lock the ho2s electrical connector retaining tab into place. After completing the installation, reinstall the front splash shield while simultaneously lowering the vehicle.
