How to replace the Rack and Pinion steering gear on 2000 Buick LeSabre?

In order to remove the rack and pinion, lock the steering column and disassemble the lower coupling of the intermediate shaft. Take off the heat shield, pressure and return pipes and stabilizer shaft links. Unscrew tie rod ends, and then take out the rack and pinion assembly. Install the new assembly again, re-connect parts and test the power steering system.
