The Saturn A/C Orifice Tube regulates the flow of refrigerant in the evaporator that way the cabin cools fast and the metal flakes that can block the system are snagged. Having been the result of a creative effort in 1985, Saturn was aimed at rethinking the construction of cars through an entirely different frame. By 1991 the company had its own plant and amazed car drivers with polymer body panels which bounced back dings on parking lots and slowed rust and ensured high resale value. Lost foam casting reduced the total weight of the engine and provided close tolerances to enhance efficiency and pep. The A/C Orifice Tube in it, itself is a very small plastic item made of brass that measures the amount of liquid refrigerant, and also doubles as a filter screen, a relatively simple part that makes a huge difference in the comfort of the summer. Most of the Saturn models begin installation by restoration of the refrigerant, which is followed by the removal of the liquid line connection at the A/C Orifice Tube position by loosening it with a needle-nose pliers.
