How to replace the front sway bar bushing on GMC Sierra 1500?

Beginning the Sway Bar Bushing replacement process requires lifting the vehicle and supporting it before removing the tire assembly with the wheel. First remove the oil pan skid plate in case it exists on your vehicle. The first step requires removing bolts from the Sway Bar Bushing bracket followed by sway bar bracket removal. After lowering the sway bar you should extract the sway bar bushings and check every part for indications of wear and damage. Place each Sway Bar Bushing to the sway bar with slits oriented to the vehicle front before fastening sway bar brackets over them. The installation of Sway Bar Bushing bracket bolts requires torque to 33 nm (24 ft. Lbs.) for 15 series vehicles and 50 nm (39 ft. Lbs.) for 25/35 series vehicles following fastener precautions. At first install the sway bar links before reinstalling the oil pan skid plate and securing its retaining bolts to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). After reinstalling the tire and wheel assembly the vehicle must be lowered with the removal of safety stands.

How to replace the front sway bar bushing on GMC Yukon?

The Sway Bar Bushing replacement process begins by supporting the raised vehicle then continuing by removing all wheel and tire assemblies. The first step requires removal of the Sway Bar Bushing bracket bolts followed by the sway bar bracket if equipped together with the oil pan skid plate. Lower the sway bar to reach the sway bar bushings which you must then remove for inspection of all parts for wear and damage. Position sway bar bushings on the shaft with slits toward the vehicle front before placing sway bar brackets over the bushings. Shack the Sway Bar Bushing bracket bolts with 33 nm torque setting for 1 5 series vehicles while 25/35 series vehicles require 50 nm torque. Situate the sway bar links first before placing the oil pan skid plate on the vehicle if present and tighten all retaining bolts at 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). After finishing with the tire and wheel assembly it is necessary to remove safety stands then reduce the vehicle height.
