To service and repair the Thermostat, proceed to remove the air cleaner and the ducts assembly. Drain the coolant partially and then take off the coolant recovery reservoir. Remove the bolts that hold the
Thermostat Housing to the Thermostat and unclip the
Radiator Hose from the case of the Thermostat Housing so that you may then unveil the Thermostat Housing and the Thermostat itself. Before replacing the Thermostat with a new one, clean the gasket mating surfaces. Next, screw the Thermostat Housing to the
Intake Manifold with bolts and tighten them to 25nm (180 inches-1/2 lb.). Reattaching the Radiator Hose onto the Thermostat Housing, replacing the coolant recovery reservoir, and reinstalling the air cleaner and duct assembly. Refill the cooling system and bleed air from it, check the Thermostat Housing and gasket for leaks of coolant.
