GMC Safari A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Condenser on GMC Safari?
    A:
Start by getting all required tools which include the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A). Start by taking out the air cleaner before recovering the refrigerant from your system. Separate the compressor hose assembly and grille from the condenser and then detach the evaporator tube with the center support bracket after that step. Begin condenser replacement by uninstalling the Radiator bolts which hold the condenser in place and remove the condenser unit from the vehicle. Position the new condenser before tightening Radiator bolts to a torque of 6 n.m (53 lb in). Install the evaporator tube and the compressor hose assembly by tightening its bolts to 28 n.m (21 lb ft). Reattach the center support bracket last. Install the grille before system evacuation and recharge and perform a halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) examination of all fittings. Finally, reinstall the air cleaner.
