Sweep off grit and wipe the metal around the hole until it is shiny. Identify the plug with the opening and apply a thin coat of light lubricant on the rim in order to get it in place easily. Plug in the key hole and press firmly, taking time to ensure that the plug fits in the key hole flush with the sheet metal. Pull it up to ensure it is engaged, insert any pre-fitted retainers, and dispose of damaged parts to ensure the seal remains fitting in years.
