Start Wheel Hub Bolt replacement in a vehicle with 4-bolts by raising and securing the vehicle properly. Take off the wheel and tire unit first. Then remove and support the complete brake caliper with bracket. Also pull out and use the brake rotor without disconnecting the hydraulic brake hose. Examine the Wheel Hub Bolt head to check if it started out round or has been replaced with a service d-shaped head. Use a thin cut to shorten the original round-head bolt until it needs 10mm (0.39in) space on the bearing hub flange side. Turn the bearing hub to find the best position for install and use j 43631 tool to detach the Wheel Hub Bolt from the hub assembly. Keep the cut portion of the Wheel Hub Bolt when possible. Adjust and loosen the three wheel bearing/hub assembly bolts step by step until you achieve 7 mm (1/4 in) of free space between the bearing assembly seat and the Steering Knuckle. This setup space helps with installing new d-shape head service bolts. Put the new replacement service bolt into the bearing/hub assembly without thread locking and avoid using a regular tap. This self-retaining fastener joint does not require these items. Tighten wheel bearing/hub assembly bolts evenly while keeping the bearing assembly at the Steering Knuckle position. Use multiple washers to push the bolt inside the hub then secure the wheel nut with its flat surface facing the washers. Tighten the nut until the Wheel Hub Bolt head touches the hub flange rear side. Install the tire and wheel assembly after you put back the brake rotor with brake caliper and bracket. Also replace the wheel nut and washers. Finally, lower the vehicle.

Place a fresh bolt onto the hub and put washers underneath it. Twist the wrench onto the wheel nut along with the bolt from the hub until they are secure. After installation remove the wheel nut and washers. Install the Brake Drum and fasten it with two recessed screws. Continue by putting back the tire and wheel unit on the vehicle's rear axle.
