The first step for Pilot Bearing replacement starts with manual Transmission Assembly removal and subsequent removal of the Pressure Plate and
Clutch Disc from the
Flywheel. Follow these steps to remove and inspect the
Crankshaft's clutch Pilot Bearing utilizing three specific tools j37764 Pilot Bearing remover adapter (J37764), j34839 pinion bearing remover (J34839), j23907 clutch Pilot Bearing remover (J23907). The deflection of the bearing should be checked for scoring, binding, and a smooth operating condition and a replacement will be necessary when required. Before reinstalling the manual Transmission Assembly, install the new clutch bearing into the Crankshaft using both j34848 clutch Pilot Bearing installer and j7079-2 driver handle. Finally attach the Pressure Plate and Clutch Disc to the Flywheel before assembly.
