To replace the Throttle Body assembly, first you unclamp the ducts to the air intake, then unplug the accelerator control cable, the cruise control cable along with the vacuum hose from Throttle Body, de-clamp the throttle position (TP) sensor, and idle air control (IAC) valve electrical connectors. Next turn off the coolant hose from the Throttle Body and the vapor vent pipe and take off the Throttle Body attaching nus and remove the the Throttle Body with the gasket which must be discarded. It is essential not to soak the Throttle Body in the cold immersion type cleaner as the factory applied sealing compound dag material on the throttle valve and bore prevent air bypass at closed throttle; this material can be eliminated by using strong solvents or brushing. Clean Throttle Body by using a spray type cleaners like gm x 66a or gm p/n 1052626 and a shop towel for heavy deposits being sure that the tp sensor and the iac valves do not touch any solvent or cleaner. Post-cleaning, replace with a new gasket and fasten by tightening the attaching nuts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Connect the coolant hose to the Throttle Body, and the vapor vent pipe and reconnect the accelerator control cable, cruise control cable, the tp sensor and iac valve's electrical connectors, and the vacuum hose last. Replace the air intake duct, and with the engine off, ensure that the accelerator pedal slides easily by pressing it to the floor and releasing it. Then complete the process by doing idle learn procedure.
