  Before starting the Brake Pad replacement check the brake fluid level in the reservoir; if the fluid sits at mid-range you can work without changing it but if it rises higher use a brake fluid extractor (needed tool) to adjust the level to mid-range. Lift the vehicle and take off the tire and wheel unit. Use a powerful c-clamp to push the Brake Caliper Piston into the caliper by fitting the clamp above the brake caliper housing then turn the handle to achieve enough piston movement. Lower the brake caliper by turning it down and stopping. Then take out the brake pads from the caliper and bracket along with their clips before taking the brake caliper clip. Use non-lubricated filtered air to dry denatured alcohol from the brake caliper mounting bracket. New Brake Pad retaining clips should always be used to mount brake pads onto the brake caliper mounting bracket. Install them correctly by placing the retaining clip in its proper position. Install the brake caliper retaining clip first then gently raise the rear brake caliper into position and fasten the upper bolt with 31 nm torque. Put back the wheel components and drop the vehicle before resupplying detected brake fluid. Press the brake pedal gently and steadily while rotating it to hold the brake pads in place and smooth out their surface.

  First, check the brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder reservoir to replace the front brake pads. If halfway between highest-full point and least allowable point, there is no fluid to be taken off, but if higher, use a brake fluid extractor (Tool Required) to get it down to the halfway mark. Lift the car and eliminate the tire wheel assembly. Use a large c clamp to compress the front Brake Caliper Piston, position the clamp atop the brake well housing atop the back of the outboard Brake Pad, and slowly tighten it until the piston is compressed sufficiently that the brake caliper may be slid off the rotor and remove the c-clamp. Next, take the lower mounting bolt off of the guide pin and rotate the brake caliper upward until it stops. Remove the outboard and inboard brake pads and the break pad retaining clips from the brake caliper mounting bracket and from the actual brake caliper and ensure you clean all foreign material off of the brake caliper with denatured alcohol. When replacing brakes, use only new brake pads retaining clips; first, mount the clips on the brake caliper mounting bracket and brake caliper, making sure the clip seats fully. Then, fit the inboard and outboard brake pads, rotate the brake caliper down in place, and fit the lower brake caliper guide pin bolt, which should be tightened to 42 nm of torque (31 ft. Lbs.). Change the brake master cylinder reservoir, lower vehicle, and reinstall the tire and wheel assembly. Pump the brake pedal gently and firmly to affix the brake pads, and finally, burnish new brake pads.
