Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Throttle Position Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the Throttle Position Sensor on Chevrolet Silverado 1500?
    A:
Start the TP Sensor replacement by removing the air cleaner outlet resonator before disconnecting the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector and unscrewing the TP sensor to extract it. The TP sensor should not be submerged in liquid cleaning products or solvents since this can cause damage to it. A proper installation requires the TP sensor to connect to the throttle shaft before tightening its screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in) according to Service Precautions Fastener Notice. Reattach the TP sensor electrical connector after finishing the installation of the air cleaner outlet resonator.
