The first step for replacing the Fuel Pressure Regulator is to remove both the upper
Intake Manifold and the retaining clip from the pressure regulator. Use different ends of a shop towel to twist and pull off the Fuel Pressure Regulator from its housing while catching escaping fuel. The team must dispose of the four components which include the regulator seal o-ring , regulator filter , regulator seal o-ring , and regulator seal back up ring . The housing of the Fuel Pressure Regulator needs coverage to stop the entry of contaminants. During regulator reinstallation always examine the filter screen for signs of contaminate because a replacement may be needed. Clean engine oil should be used to lubricate the new components while assembling theback up ring alongside regulator seal o-ring, regulator, regulator seal o-ring to the Fuel Pressure Regulator. Attach the Fuel Pressure Regulator by putting the vacuum tube in the downward direction then fasten it with the retainer clip before reinstalling the upper manifold. Reinstall the negative
Battery Cable while securely placing the fuel fill cap in position. After turning on the ignition for two seconds check for fuel leaks by waiting ten seconds for ignition off followed by another two seconds for ignition on.
