Chevrolet Metro Liftgate Hinge Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the liftgate hinge on Chevrolet Metro?
    A:
Start by lifting the liftgate with proper support to work on the replacement. You can open the Weather Stripping part to reach the hinge retaining nut and detach it. Remove the 2 liftgate bolts holding it to the hinge assembly. Rephrase this step by removing the other hinge from the vehicle. Set the hinge in its position on the liftgate then attach it with the two bolts but leave the nuts loose. Use a wrench to tighten both the lifting nut between hinge and vehicle plus the two bolts that connect liftgate to hinge until they achieve 45 nm (33 lb ft) torque settings. After putting the hinge bolts at 45 nm (33 lb ft) push the Weather Strip into position and engage the liftgate.
