The first step in axle bearing and hub replacement requires correct vehicle lifting and positioning. A fully integrated rear Wheel Bearing system runs within the Wheel Hub which must be replaced entire while repairing it. Start with tire and wheel removal before deducting the brake rotor. Unplug the abs sensor connector when it serves the system functions and disconnect the park brake cable from the actuator. After acquiring the rear bearing/hub the technician unbolts the hardware and dismounts the Wheel Bearing/hub and park brake assembly from the knuckle before disconnecting the park brake actuator from the unit. To install the new Wheel Bearing/hub place it with the splash shield in its proper position from removal while replacing any loose or removed fasteners to retain vehicle control. Reassemble both Wheel Bearing/hub bolts and torque them to 130 n.m (96 lb ft) of force. Reinstall the Brake Disc and caliper assembly before fastening the front wheel drive shaft nut with a drift tool to immobilize the rotor. Tighten to a torque of 190 n.m (140 lb.ft). When mounting the Wheel Speed Sensor electrical connector select the bracket if the vehicle configuration demands it and insert the connector into its designated spot on the bracket. Put on the tire and wheel after lowering the vehicle.
