The first step to replace a non-ABS proportioning valve is to take out the master cylinder reservoir. Start with removing the caps from the proportioning valve after taking off the O-rings and springs. Pull out the proportioning valve pistons through the needle nose pliers opening to prevent damaging the stem and separate the valve seals from their positions on the pistons. Look for issues with the pistons and replace them when they are damaged. Clean every component with denatured alcohol before blowing it dry through non-oiled compressed air. Use the silicone grease from the kit to lubricate O-rings, proportioning valve seals and proportioning valve piston stems before assembling the system. Install the new piston seals into their slots and position them upwards from the master cylinder body. Place new O-rings and springs inside the grooves of both proportioning valve caps properly. Use a torque wrench to install the master cylinder reservoir while tightening the proportioning valve caps to 27 Nm force. Finally, bleed the brakes.
