The replacement of the engine Flywheel begins by removing the automatic transmission followed by removing the Flywheel bolts and taking out the Flywheel. A detailed investigation of the engine Flywheel needs to take place before cleaning it. There is no locating pin to provide alignment during the Flywheel installation onto the
Crankshaft because the Flywheel remains unrestrained until the engine Flywheel bolts draw it onto the Crankshaft surface. The threads of Flywheel bolts require gm p/n 12345382 threadlock (Canadian P/N 10953489) or an equivalent material for application. The engine Flywheel bolts must be installed in a specific order: torque them to 20 nm first, then to 50 nm and finish with 100 nm. Proceed to reinstall the automatic transmission after finishing the installation process.
