Before replacing the Valve Stem Oil Seal and valve spring always apply compressed air to the cylinder but first make sure to block the Crankshaft rotation to safeguard your sprocket holding tool (J 43655). To protect the manual transmission system from movement apply first gear with the parking brake engaged while automatic cars need their starter taken off. Position the flywheel holding tool j 43653 and detach the
Camshaft assembly including its roller followers. Secure the two front parts of the valve spring compressor j 43649 into the second Camshaft cover bolt hole, and fix other parts to the cylinder head. Put an
Air Hose adapter into the
Spark Plug hole then connect an Air Hose. Mainly increase cylinder pressure to 690 kpa (100 psi). Use the valve spring compressor j 43649 to squeeze down the spring and take off its keepers, retainer and spring. Insert the valve guide seal remover (J 36017) tool to take out the valve seal and add another valve seal with the same tool ensuring it is properly installed on the valve guide. Insert the valve spring assembly and connect its parts before taking off the Air Hose at the Spark Plug hole. End by installing the spark plugs first then put back the Camshaft roller followers and Camshaft before taking out the flywheel holding tool.
